Gaza

Armed soldiers of the IOF stormed the home of Hassan Karajeh at 2:30am, and, gathering the family together in one room, separated the men and women from each other. The soldiers started to search the family members and ordered them to strip naked for a strip search, however the men and women refused and defied this order.

Muhannad Karajeh, Hassan's brother and a lawyer, reported that special units of the Israeli army stormed the house and carried out an extensive search, in the process breaking furniture, scattering the contents of the house, and taking three personal computers, three mobile phones, and five bags of private documents belonging to the family.

Muhannad Karajeh further described how the Israeli soldiers attacked his brother Hassan, handcuffed and blindfolded him, and, arresting him, took him to an undisclosed location and refused to tell the family where.

The Karajeh family denounces Hassan's arrest and the way in which it was carried out by the Israeli occupation forces, and condemns the theft of their property and the destruction and smashing of the contents of their house. The family calls upon international human rights organisations to demand that the Israeli occupation forces immediately release Hassan and all others detained by the occupation forces.

Hassan Karajeh is the youth coordinator of Stop the Wall. He is a young human rights defender, well known at the local level and across the Arab world. He was youth ambassador for Palestine at the Arab Thought Forum and has represented various Palestinian organizations in many international conferences and seminars.

His arrest comes as part of the continued Israeli repression of Palestinian human rights defenders involved in popular action against Israeli occupation, including the illegal construction of the Wall and the settlements. Stop the Wall has repeatedly been the target of arrest campaigns and office raids in order to stop its activism aimed at implementing Palestinian rights and international law.

Governments across the globe have overwhelmingly condemned the illegal Israeli settlement enterprise and in particular the latest expansion of the E1 settlement bloc. If governments don´t want to accept Israel ridiculing their condemnations and international law, the least the international community should do is to stand up for the right to protest Israeli settlement construction.

The latest Israeli elections have yet again confirmed that Israel will only respect Palestinian rights and international law and start considering a just peace once heavy international pressure takes effect. Until then, Israel will continue to expand settlements and to implement their August 2011 announcement to the UN agencies that they plan to forcibly expel Palestinian communities in Area C (over 60 percent of the West Bank).

The new generation of active, creative and determined youth activists and their movement galvanizing popular resistance are clearly a threat to these actions and human rights defenders will pay a heavy toll of repression. Hassan is only one of them – a symbol of a new generation of Palestinian resistance. Stop the Wall therefore calls on all human rights organizations, Arab and international solidarity movements and human rights defenders to support us in mounting a powerful and effective campaign for the release of Hassan Karajah.

We are preparing an activist kit for you to join in the campaign to free Hassan. Updates will follow soon.

Free Hassan Karajah!

Ketegangan Israel, Gaza kian memuncak

- AFP

Iran kutuk Zionis serang Gaza

Ramin Mehman-Parast
Ramin Mehman-Parast

- AP

ISRAEL WARNS GAZA

Raids on Gaza, and the occupation says 15 rockets fell on the south at dawn today and last night. IDF drop leaflets "The Forewarned is forearmed."

Israeli aircrafts struck late at night on sunday and at dawn on Monday, on different parts of the Gaza Strip (translation).

According to media sources, 'F-16' type planes targeted
- first raid just before midnight - a house under construction east of the Bureij camp central Gaza Strip, which led to its destruction,
- second raid - locations in Zaytoun neighborhood southeast Gaza City,
- third raid - a site in the province of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip,
- fourth raid - a site in the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.
No injuries were reported.

According to the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz, quoting Altrona in its Monday morning edition, about 15 Palestinian rockets landed at dawn today and last night at southern Israel in an escalation described as dangerous by Israeli sources.
The radio said all rockets fell in open areas and did not lead to injuries or damage.

The paper also quoted a military source as saying that the Israeli Air raids targeted military sites training Palestinian militants north and south of the Strip.

Nine Martyrs ascended and fifteen others were injured, in this situation of extreme danger in the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since last Monday morning.

In the same regard, Israeli aircraft dropped this morning enticing leaflets over the southern areas of the Gaza Strip, especially the various areas of Rafah and the eastern border of the province of Khan Younis.

According to local sources, the publications are calling on citizens not to approach the "terrorist organizations", claiming that elements of these organizations pose a threat to people's lives, their families and their children and their property.

The occupation forces claimed in their publications that insurgents are firing rockets from populated areas, saying they "will pursue any breach of a violent response in the sector."

The leaflets also warned against any attempt to storm the security fence or approach it for a distance of 300 meters, promising that they will respond firmly to it.

They added that the Israeli army forces will work to ensure the protection of "Israeli territory" and security for the population.

They said "terrorist organizations operating elements you Gazans shelter endanger your life and are a risk to your life, your children's, and your families”.

Publications claimed "bear responsibility for your future and stay away from this danger, any person acting during the break, the system will give a firm response by the IDF."

The publications carried the signing of the so-called "IDF command," and contained two maps showing outlawed distances along the border of the Gaza Strip.

Israel & the Gaza blockade:

Israel & the Gaza blockade:
Israeli Health officials provided calculations of the minimum number of calories needed by Gaza’s 1.5 million inhabitants to avoid malnutrition. Those figures were then translated into truckloads of food Israel was supposed to allow in each day.
But while the health ministry determined that Gazans needed daily an average of 2,279 calories each to avoid malnutrition — re
quiring 170 trucks a day — military officials then found a host of pretexts to whittle down the trucks to a fraction of the original figure.

Will future historians reveal that Israeli officials also pondered the fewest hours of electricity Palestinians in Gaza needed to survive, or the minimum amount of water, or the smallest living space per family, or the highest feasible levels of unemployment?

Iran condemns Israeli attacks against Gaza Strip.

A Palestinian youth looks at destroyed vehicles outside
a house following an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast has strongly condemned a string of new Israeli attacks against the besieged Gaza Strip which have killed and injured tens of Palestinians.
Mehmanparast blasted Tel Aviv for the re
cent spate of attacks on the blockaded coastal enclave, describing them as the sign of “barbarism and aggressiveness of this illegal regime.”

He also called on international community and human rights organizations to take necessary measures and put an end to continued crimes and aggressions of the Zionist regime of Israel against Palestinians.

The Iranian spokesperson stressed that Muslim people of the region are not indifferent to pains and suffering of the innocent and besieged Palestinian people and the Israeli attacks will give a further boost to the wave of anti-Zionist sentiment in the Muslim world.

In the latest attack, a Palestinian was killed and another injured after a remote-controlled Israeli assassination drone fired missiles at targets in the town of Rafah on Sunday.

Israeli warplanes and ground forces have frequently attacked Gaza since the end of the 22-day war on the territory in 2009. Most victims of the raids are civilians, including women and children.

Gaza has been under an Israeli siege since 2007, when democratically-elected Hamas took control of the tiny Palestinian territory.

Some 1.5 million people are being denied their basic rights, including freedom of movement, and their rights to appropriate living conditions, work, health and education. Poverty and unemployment rates stand at approximately 80 percent and 60 percent, respectively, in the Gaza Strip.

Sukarelawan misi Gaza cemas dengar tembakan

Sukarelawan misi Gaza cemas dengar tembakan
Keadaan sekitar bandar Gaza diambil dari penempatan sukarelawan.
Sukarelawan misi Gaza cemas dengar tembakan
Abu Yussof memakaikan mafl a kepada sukarelawan, Mohd Nor Awang disaksikan Ausaini.
