أبو الطيب كان يرأس قبل استشهاده كتيبة "أحباب المصطفى" التابعة للواء التوحيد بحلب والتي قام بتأسيسها مع بدايات المعارضة المسلحة لنظام بشار الأسد وتشكلت نواتها من أبنائه وأحفاده.

وكان أبو الطيب دائماً يردد قوله إنه خرج للجهاد لثلاثة أسباب هي الجهاد، وتحفيز همم الشباب، وسبب لم يفصح به، قائلا: "أحتفظ به لنفسي".

Aftermath of the attack which killed over 50 of Assads rats 

Scores of Alawite soldiers were killed by a Martyrdom car bomb in the central province of Hama. The bombing took place in the village of Ziyara in the central province of Hama and was carried out by a courageous Mujahid of Jabhat al-Nusra.

Alot of people complained about Jabhat Al-Nusrah being a ''tool of the goverment'' but they have struck fear into Assads troops like no other group aswel as causing them the most damage!
